About the Artwork: The background of the panel is painted with a pigmented lime paint on which are superimposed cut-out elements belonging to the floral, spherical, statuary, aquatic, bestiary (cicada), and architectural domains, constants that can be found in my other panels, like a personal alphabet.
For this series, a common dominant is symbolized by a Provencal jewel.
A luminous mosaic with bright tones of orange, green, purple, white, and blue is interspersed with dark colors that highlight the brilliance of other colors.
The panel is bathed in diffuse light.
In the center of the panel, perched on a pile of soap, is the main character, represented by a statue of a fife player, soaking up the song of the cicadas.
