About the Artwork: Elyn has entrenched herself in a world of her own in which her creations take precedence over all other considerations. No matter what anyone else may do or say. a fulfilling life for an endless job, a job for life. art, the sun of the Luberon, love and simple life are the only things that matter to her and make her happy. like Oskar, the young hero of Günter Grass, the writer, and Volker Schlöndorff, the filmmaker, Elyn has deliberately chosen not to grow up. the adult world brings her doubts, fears and too far much caution. the saturation of this same world in material goods, in short-lived interests, in equivocal temptations, in jealousy unceasingly started again, imposes an unbearable ordeal to her soul, an abyssal gap between the being and the appearance. refusing the theft of her soul, she took refuge in a world where fairies still exist, an innocent and colorful world. it is this world that she has painted and her world of enchantment has met her little girl’s dreams, her happiness and her hopes.
